Frequently Asked
Questions (General Questions)
Which
PowerPoint Presentation remote do you recommend?
Ultimately, we recommend a remote that will allow you to control
PowerPoint, give you mouse control features, and give you a control
range between 50-100 foot. At Amazon, there are two remotes that
meet these requirements. The first one is "Interlink 2.4GHZ Remote Point
Global Presenter VP4350" for $126.94, and the second is "Interlink
Electronics VP4810 RemotePoint RF Remote Control" for about $92.95.
We highly recommend them!
Is it possible to
edit the fancy graphics and text found in the sermons and illustrations?
All the PowerPreacher sermons and illustrations were created using the
advanced features of PowerPoint 2007. Consequently, if you want to edit
the "SmartArt" graphics and/or the "WordArt" text found in the sermons
and illustrations, you can only do this via PowerPoint 2007. In fact,
all the PowerPreacher sermons have a pptx copy for easy editing under
PowerPoint 2007. Likewise, most of the PowerPreacher illustrations can
also be edited under PowerPoint 2007. Everything else that was not
created via "SmartArt" and "WordArt" can be edited via any version of
PowerPoint.
What is the difference
between your sermons and illustrations?
All the illustrations are already contained within the twenty-seven
PowerPreacher sermons (twenty-six plus our bonus sermon). We
decided, however, to isolate all the visual illustrations and stories
found in the PowerPreacher sermons into separate PowerPoint illustration files.
In this manner, users can design their original PowerPoint sermon using our
visual illustrations. In addition, we created a 3-D Sermons Book
as well as a 3-D Illustrations Book to assist users
during their sermon preparation. In short, we wanted to give users
flexibility on how they use our product.
If I don't have
PowerPoint installed on my computer, can I run your PowerPreacher
sermons?
In the DVD, you will find the installation software for Microsoft's
free
"PowerPoint Viewer 2003". With the free viewer
installed on your computer, you will be able to run our sermons and illustrations.
Nevertheless, we do not recommend this approach.
Indeed, without having PowerPoint installed on your computer, you won't
be able to edit the sermons or illustrations (editing is optional and
many may choose not to edit our material). Moreover, you won't
be able to play the video poems directly from PowerPoint Viewer 2003
(although you will be able to play the video poems from your PC using
your media player).
I have PowerPoint 97/2000
installed on my computer, yet you recommend PowerPoint 2002 or higher,
why do you make this recommendation?
With the arrival of PowerPoint 2002, Microsoft introduced some advanced
animation techniques. Unfortunately, these animations techniques
do not display in either PowerPoint 97 or PowerPoint 2000. The
workaround solution, however, is to install PowerPoint Viewer 2003
(which is found on the DVD). The free viewer will allow you to view
the sermons and illustrations as they were originally designed.
The free viewer is also integrated with our software to make it easier
for the user to play back our sermons and illustrations. For more information about PowerPoint Viewer 2003,
please scroll down to the FAQ section about PowerPoint Viewer 2003.
On what Windows operating
systems has your software been tested?
Our software has been tested on Windows 98SE, Widows ME, Windows 2000,
Windows XP Home & Professional editions, and Windows Vista. It will work on any of
these systems. It will not work on Windows 95 or
Windows 98.
On how many computers can I
install your software?
Our primary license allows you to install our software on 3 computers.
You are also allowed to make a backup copy of the DVD for archival
purposes. If you need to install our software on more than 3 computers,
you can purchase additional licenses by clicking on the
Purchase page.
What is the resolution
pixels of your video poems? Will they play in full screen within
PowerPoint?
Our video poems are 640 x 480 pixels. They will play in full
screen directly from our PowerPoint sermons or illustrations.
Am I allowed to create derivative works using
the images found on PowerPreacher Sermons and Illustrations?
You are not permitted to create derivative works since many of the
images are under license and others were designed for our exclusive use.
In addition, all the components of our product are considered
nontransferable.
If I want to copy a PowerPreacher sermon or
illustration that contains a video poem in order to play off the
church's computer, what is the easiest approach to accomplish this
without having to install the whole DVD on the church's computer?
You can actually copy the PowerPreacher sermon or illustration on any
choice folder or directory. However, if the PowerPreacher sermon or
illustration contains a video poem, you will need to create the folder
C:\PowerPreacher\Volume 1\Videos on the destination computer.
Thereafter, you will need to copy the .exe and the .wmv extensions of
the video poem to the destination folder. For example, if you wanted
to copy "Footprints in the Sand", you will need to copy both "Footprints
in the Sand.wmv" and "Footprints in the Sand.exe" to the
destination folder.
Assuming I create my own
PowerPoint sermon, how do I include one of your video poems into my
sermon?
You can open one of our sermons or illustrations that contains the video
poem and copy the particular slide into your sermon. In addition, your
destination computer must have the folder C:\PowerPreacher\Volume
1\Videos. Thereafter, you will need to copy the .exe and the .wmv
extensions of the video poem to the destination folder. For example, if
you wanted to copy "Footprints in the Sand", you will need to copy both
"Footprints in the Sand.wmv" and "Footprints in the Sand.exe" to the
destination folder.
Frequently Asked
Questions About PowerPoint Viewer 2003
Note: If you currently use PowerPoint 2002, PowerPoint 2003,
or PowerPoint 2007, you don't need to use PowerPoint Viewer 2003.
PowerPoint Viewer 2003 is strictly for users of PowerPoint 97 or
PowerPoint 2000.
What is PowerPoint Viewer 2003?
PowerPoint Viewer 2003 is a free "viewer" or a player that allows you to view
PowerPoint presentations without requiring PowerPoint to be installed on your
computer. In addition, with the introduction of PowerPoint 2002, Microsoft introduced advanced
animation techniques for PowerPoint. A great number of the slides in
PowerPreacher Sermons and Illustrations use these advanced animation
techniques. Consequently, if you run PowerPreacher Sermons and
Illustrations through your PowerPoint 97 or PowerPoint 2000 program, you
won't get to see these animations. Fortunately, Microsoft released
PowerPoint Viewer 2003 to address this problem. With the Viewer
installed on your computer, you will have the opportunity to witness the
advanced animation techniques of PowerPoint 2002 and PowerPoint 2003. If
you have not installed Viewer 2003, please download it from
here or install it from the DVD.
How do I use PowerPoint Viewer 2003 with your
sample sermon?
You can
automatically run the sermon via PowerPoint Viewer 2003 within the 3-D
Sample Book by selecting
this option from the designated link at the conclusion of the sermon.
Should I use PowerPoint
Viewer 2003 when I run the sample sermon via our church projector?
We urge you to use PowerPoint Viewer 2003 on your projector's computer.
In fact, once the Viewer is installed on your projector's computer,
please create a shortcut to the Viewer from your desktop to simplify
things.
How do I create a shortcut to PowerPoint Viewer
2003 from my desktop?
Please follow these steps:
1. On your desktop, move your mouse to an empty spot.
2. Using your mouse, click on your right hand button.
3. Select "New".
4. Select "Shortcut".
5. On the "location of the item", type: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\PowerPoint Viewer\pptview.exe".
6. Click on "Finish".
If you have a question that was not addressed in this
section or from the FAQs sections on the 3-D Books, please send us an email at
